Chip Seal Roadway Maintenance Program – June 2026 Roadway ScopeÂ
Scott Road, Cross Road, Town Hill Road, Magnolia Lane, Knollwood Lane, South Eagle Street, Washington RoadÂ
The Town of Plymouth Department of Public Works advises residents that roadway preservation work is scheduled to begin during the week of June 22, 2026, weather permitting.Â
In preparation for the program, beginning June 1, 2026, Town Highway Department Crews will be performing roadway maintenance activities and localized repairs along roads included in the chip seal program. This work may include pavement patching, shoulder maintenance, drainage improvements and other measures necessary to prepare roadways for treatment.Â
The Town’s Chip Seal Program is an important pavement preservation treatment designed to extend the service life of roadways, improve driving surfaces, and protect existing pavement from weather related deterioration.Â
During construction, residents and motorists should expect:Â
Temporary lane closures and traffic delaysÂ
Loose stone on road surfaces immediately following applicationÂ
Reduced speed limits within work zonesÂ
Temporary restrictions on on-street parking in affected areasÂ
Motorists are urged to use caution when traveling through active work zones, follow all posted traffic control signs and allow additional travel time.Â
Following the initial chip seal application, crews will return to sweep excess stone from the roadway surface. Additional pavement markings may be restored as part of the final phase of work.Â
The Town appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation as we continue investing in the maintenance and preservation of Plymouth’s roadway infrastructure.Â
