Plymouth Road Paving Update
The Town of Plymouth Department of Public Works would like to provide residents
with an update on the remaining road paving work scheduled for this construction
season.
DPW continues to coordinate closely with the Town’s paving contractor. Fine grading
and preparation work is continuing in the Farms area, and paving equipment has
been staged in preparation for the remaining work. The contractor is completing
previously scheduled work before returning to Plymouth.
The anticipated sequence of work is:
1. The Farms (Oakdale, Fountainhead, Tumblebrook) – Placement of binder
pavement.
2. North Street – Placement of the final top course from Barry Road to North
Harwinton Avenue.
3. South Eagle Street – Placement of the final top course from approximately
411 South Eagle Street to South Main Street.
4. The Farms (Oakdale, Foundtainhead, Tumblebrook) – Placement of the final
top course to complete paving operations.
The exact schedule remains subject to contractor availability, weather, and field
conditions. DPW is continuing to work with the contractor to advance the schedule
and will provide additional information as firm dates become available.
Following paving, the Plymouth Highway Department and Town subcontractors will
continue restoration work along the completed roadways, including driveway aprons,
road-edge and curb backfilling, and turf restoration.
We appreciate residents' patience while these improvements are completed and ask
motorists to use caution around active construction areas.
