Trash and Recycling Barrel Placement Reminder

As we approach the winter season, the Town of Plymouth would like to remind all residents of an important safety and maintenance policy regarding trash and recycling barrels.

Barrels must not be left in the street at any time. Leaving containers in the roadway creates hazards for snowplows, emergency vehicles, and everyday traffic. During winter weather events, barrels left curbside may be damaged, buried in snow, or prevent proper snow removal—posing risks to both public safety and property.

To ensure efficient service and safe streets, please observe the following guidelines:To ensure efficient service and safe streets, please observe the following guidelines:

• Place barrels at the edge of your driveway or sidewalk, not in the street.

• During snowstorms, delay placing barrels out until conditions allow for safe pickup.

We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our roads clear and our community safe. If you have any questions, please contact the Department of Public Works at (860) 585-4036.
